Are you using CBD products yet?  Do you have any family members using it?

More importantly, do you know how it works?   I haven’t had one person yet who knows what CBD is or how it works.  If you don’t understand how it works then you don’t understand why you should take it.  Not everyone needs CBD but it would help many people.

Your body has a whole system that makes CBD that you don’t even know about.  It’s called the endocannabanoid system.

The purpose of this system is to calm and soothe the body.

There are different receptors for CBD.

CB1 receptors are mainly in the brain and central nervous system.  THC acts on the CB1 receptors in the brain.

CB2 receptors are mainly in the rest of the body outside the nervous system.  CBD works on these receptors.

CBD has a calming, soothing effects on the body.

Hemp and Marijuana are both from the cannabis plant.  The big difference that we are concerned about is that Hemp produces very low THC and Marijuana produces very high THC.  Hemp plants are bred to produce less than .03% THC, the mind altering psychoactive component of marijuana.  Essentially, hemp is bred to NOT get you high, yet produce large amounts of CBD.

To get the Cannabanoids out of the hemp plant it is first processed.  The hemp is ground up small, compressed, and then Supercritical CO2 is used to pull the oils out of the plant, leaving the fiber behind.

During Supercritical CO2 extraction the CO2, under pressure and temperature changes,  will take the form of a gas, to a liquid, and back to a gas.  In this manner the CO2 is used and recycled again, it gets extracted leaving only a clean hemp o  concentrate. This process pulls all the nourishing cannabanoids, terpenes, and waxes out of the plants.  The waxes are concentrated and especially rich in nutrients.  What is left is essentially a superconcentrated crude oil full of everything.  There are some things we want and some things we don’t want in our final product.  It needs that needs further treatments for us to get what we really want from it.  We’re going to pull what we really want out of this crude hemp oil.

Supercritical CO2  is the most expensive extraction method and is generally the gold standard.  It’s the most effective and safest plant extraction method we use for working with plant materials.

After Supercritical CO2 extraction you have what is called the Full Spectrum oil.  This contains everything you can get out of the plant, including chlorophyll.  This oil can be processed further to refine and separate out it’s various components.

The first step is a process called Winterizarion.  Essentially it means you freeze everything to -60 degrees Celsius.  The oils, fats, and larger materials will separate out and it will be filtered.  -60 degrees Celsius is a very cold temperature.

The next step that is taken is the distillation process.  The distillation process will separate the various compounds based on their boiling point.  When things boil they are released as a vapor and this called be suctioned off with a vacuum.  When the chlorophyll is removed it greatly improves the taste of the oil.  As it is purified it will become lighter in color.  The result is a light yellow concentrate known as distillate.  People are more likely to supplement with these products long term because of the improved taste of the distillate product  over the full spectrum product.

Distillation is a way to separate different compounds by their different boiling points.  There are over 125 different cannabanoids and we can split them apart based on their different boiling points.   As they boil they turn to a vapor at known temperatures.  These vapors are collected under vacuum and we have pure products separated by the distillation process.  These ultra pure products are known as Isolates.

The removal of THC is one step in the distillation process.  We chose to use an ultra pure version of the main cannabanoid known as CBD Isolate.  CBD Isolate product contains NO THC!  CBD Isolate is ideal for those who choose the CBD PURE lifestyle.
