Why Am I So Tired All the Time?

More importantly, what am I going to do about it?

It seems people are increasingly becoming more tired. My patients ask my advice regarding supplements to take for increasing their energy. Unfortunately, there’s not one easy answer. Not one that’s healthy, anyway. I believe that what they’re asking for is that they want to increase the energy output of their body. When they hit their gas pedal, they want their body to take off and respond. That’s what we’re talking about here. How do you do this naturally and without stimulants?

Something has got to change … ’cause running out of energy ain’t cool.

     I’ve hit the wall

When a whole nation of people is complaining about the same thing, then we can easily figure out the common cause. It’s really not hard at all. When you put crap gas in your car, it runs like crap … pretty simple metaphor. Read on.

What’s causing all this fatigue and brain fog?

Hint: it’s more common than you think. It’s so common that most people ignore it.

It’s the Standard American Diet! It’s full of crap!

Here it is: it’s SAD. It’s the:

S — Standard

A — American

D — Diet

Eat it if you want — you might get sick. Look at your friends.

THE “SAD” Standard American Diet is full of fast food, processed food, wayyyyy too much sugar, grains and bread, and high fructose corn syrup (HFCS). These are all the foods you love, and they taste good. These are the foods that are causing your symptoms.

We indulge too much, constantly, all the time, and we overeat.

We’re still malnourished.

Many humans think that the main reason they’re on this earth is to do what they want to do. That is their right. They can eat what they want to eat, drink what they want to drink, and do what they want to do.

That’s all fine and dandy, but there’s a good chance if you consume this diet you will eventually get sick and tired. You did it to yourself. You’re tired when you wake up, and tired when you go to bed. There’s the after-lunch tired. There’s the brain fog. Maybe your arms feel heavy. Maybe you’re having trouble with driving. You probably don’t sleep well either. Can’t lose weight. Does this sound familiar?

Eating all this unhealthy crap has consequences.

To put it in simply: when we eat the SAD American diet, the consequence is that we feel the way that we do.

If you put junk gas in a sports car, the sports car runs like junk. Your body is no different. It’s very similar to a sports car in that if you give it what it needs, then it will run like a sports car. If you put junk gas in it, then it can barely cross the finish line. It’s fatigued … know what I mean?

Are you sick and tired of being sick and tired?

Really, are you sick and tired of being sick and tired? More importantly: Are you ready to take certain steps to fix your problem? When you talk about natural healing, then you must address the cause of the problem. When you treat the cause, the symptoms go away. Fatigue is a symptom. If you treat just the symptom of fatigue, then the cause remains. If you treat the cause then the symptom of fatigue goes away. Fatigue is caused by inefficient energy production.

Is your brain running out of energy?

When you’re fatigued all the time, your body isn’t producing enough energy. It’s inefficient. Let me explain more of the problem by using an analogy.

Pretend your body is a car, and it needs more horsepower. How do you get more horsepower out of an engine? This is like your body. How do you get more energy out of your body? That’s what you need. More energy.  At the moment, you’re stuck where you are in the healing process, and you’re not producing enough energy. Therefore, you aren’t making progress.

Lack of power is your dilemma.

So, how to get more horsepower out of your engine? First, you’re going to need to put some premium gas into the car. Forget the junk gas that’s cheaper. The car doesn’t just run as well when you’re using that cheap stuff.

Start eating premium food. You can’t afford NOT to!

Here’s what you can change right now to increase energy.

  1. Always eat organic. If you’re not eating organic, ask yourself: How are my energy levels and sleep quality?

This is why you need to eat organic foods. They’re higher quality foods that aren’t genetically altered. They’re not sprayed with Roundup pesticide. This is important. Our bodies are not supposed to be eating genetically modified foods that are sprayed with Roundup. This puts Roundup pesticide in our guts. If you ate Roundup on a daily basis, how well do you think you would feel? How would your energy levels be? Roundup causes cancer!

Why are they allowed to use this?

Your EPA and FDA encourage this.

Organic foods are grown from superior quality soils and they are superior quality foods. Always consume organic foods. They may be more expensive, but it’s the premium fuel that you need.

If you’re not eating organic foods — well, how’s that goin’ for ya?

2. Cut grains out of your diet. All of them. Immediately.

  Humans cannot digest grains properly.

Cows eat grains. Humans eat veggies.

Either you want to get better or you don’t. That’s what it comes down to, because these breads and pasta taste good. These food engineers made them taste good. It’s supposed to taste good. But, do you have to eat everything that tastes good?

We lived on meat and veggies only for millions of years.

The human gut has not evolved to ingest grains … or Roundup.

At one time, we were forced to eat grains because other food sources ran out. If there was famine, and no meat or veggies around, we had to get creative. Humans have been on Earth a long, long time, and over 99% of that time we did not eat grains. They aren’t good for us. They are only to be eaten if everything else runs out.

Does this make sense? Even if it tastes good?

If you want to reduce fatigue, then you’ll need to get the grains out of your diet. Gluten is a protein in the husk of the grain. It makes the bread very sticky and dense. The problem is, gluten really is a substance we did not evolve to eat. We don’t eat grass, do we? No, our bodies do not digest it well. Grains slowly destroy the digestive system. Plus, the grains that they feed us with today have been so genetically manipulated that they’re foreign substances to our digestive system. Humans are not supposed to run on grains. Period. Cut them out.

The most common symptoms of a gluten diet are lack of energy, difficulty concentrating, and bodily aches. Gluten-induced fatigue can really impact your quality of life.

        Get the sugar out!

3. Get the sugar and carbs out!

I know, sugar tastes good. We humans just like eating everything that tastes good. Then, afterward, we feel like crap. Do you want to actually feel good every day and be content with life? Or do you want to eat everything that gets put in front of you? We have to get our eating habits under control if we want to be healthy. Not eating all these unnecessary sugars and carbohydrates is just one aspect of it.

Carbs break down into sugar. Whenever you eat a bunch of carbs or sugar, you’ll feel good — for about an hour. An hour later, you’ll experience a drop in blood sugar. Then you’ll feel fatigued. Then, you crave sugar. Then you eat sugar. Then the good/ bad vicious cycle starts over again. This is why you get sleepy at work after lunch.

There are many other things that need to be done to help with fatigue. These steps are essentially like putting premium gas in your car. Right now, you may be putting dirty fuel in your sports car. We’re starting by getting some of the crap out of your diet so your body has a chance to run right.

The next step to getting more energy is to chew your food properly. Your body also needs supplements to help digest the food. The damage to the gut wall lining can be repaired. Healing the digestive system is a slow process, and it will take a few years.

These are a few steps to getting more horsepower out of your engine. Call us if you need help.
